Where to stay in Napa Valley

Here's an insider's Napa Valley tip: the place to stay is The Wine Country Inn, which is just north of St. Helena. The rooms are fantastic, the grounds like a mini-garden of Eden, plus, they have an awesome breakfast each morning. "Chef Guy" usually makes an egg dish (my favorite is "death by cheese") and homemade muffins and cookies, there's a make-your-own waffle station, plus the Inn makes its own special-double-secret recipe granola. Check it out: http://www.winecountryinn.com/

Sounds beautiful, especially the mini-garden-of-eden like grounds. Tell me more... Does the Inn have its own vineyard? Are there wine tours?

Hi Adrienne. Good to "see" you online again.... The vineyards that border the Inn aren't the Inn's (unfortunately!). BUT the Inn does sell wine from local Napa Valley wineries. And yes, they also have a tour where they take couple to "off the beaten path" wineries for tastings, tours, and a gourmet picnic lunch. The last one I was on was v-e-r-y cool. We went to an old ghost winery that's been refurbished. THe wine was great, and it was very cool to see how the winery had been built on three levels, to use gravity to move the wine from place to place rather than machines. Anyway...

This seems like the perfect place to stay for the full Napa Valley wine experience. I have never actually spent the night in one of the rooms but some of my relatives have stayed and they loved it! They appreciated the attention to small details and also the friendly staff. Apparently in the past few years, business has been very good for the WCI due to successful marketing and I look forward to hopefully staying there one day soon.
