...you're drinking coffee at 10:30 p.m. and cocktails at 10:30 a.m.
No lunch today--still on the reserves from my power Sunday brunch this a.m. Tonight, a great meal--definitely in the steak mode. The only question: Where? So many possibilities!
P.S. Have played in two tournaments, made both final tables (50+ players in this morning's tourney), and cashed once (ended up 6th), so holding my own.... Still, I want to WIN one of these.

Glad you're having fun brother. Congrats on you're final table, hope there are more this trip. If you ever figure out how to lay down a big pair in the blind when the other blind has aces I hope you'll explain it to me.
I'm no foodie but I have to jump in when the subject turns to steak. As a connoisseur of vices (chief among them gambling, red meat, and fine cigars) the ONLY place in Vegas IMnsHO for steak is Del Frisco’s.

This has been the scene of some memorable meals for me and my cigar minded buddies with incredible food and superb service. I’ll never forget seeing Jay T and Tim W getting their 50-ounce Kobe rib eyes delivered. These things were immense wheels of the tenderest beef with the whole cow rib attached. They were giant meatcicles that looked like they came right out of Wilma Flinstone’s oven. For my money, always the filet with a Knob Creek on the rocks and a Casa Fuente house brand cigar available only at Casa Fuente in the Forum shops.
Party on dude.
Jimmy, just read your email, so THANK YOU and yes, I will check out Del Friscos...if not this trip, then soon. Tournies tomorrow at 10, 2 and 8. So much of this poker is simply TIMING--in the 2 p.m. tourney today I flopped top pair (Q) with an A kicker and on the board two nines and some moron had the other nine so bye-bye Tim.
del friscos is a site to behold. sounds like you're having a blast down there - been checking into the blog, nicely done! you know you're getting a good steak when they ask you "how do you want it cooked" and then when you say medium rare, they ask if you want the middle "cold, warm or hot"?
oh baby!
the other thing to do, granted, you're not a cigar nut, but is to get a mojito at casa fuente in the caesars forum shops. the waitresses alone are worth the trip!
enjoy it my man, sounds like fun and congrats on the final table.
Thanks Jay. Your cannonball run has inspired my reporting-from-Vegas blogging. Let's figure out how we can get a bunch of us back out here soon---Jimmy Z, Chris, etc, etc. I've been talking up restuarants with insiders...have several to report on shortly.
Love it... "you know you're in Vegas when..." too funny and so true!
